The DVCA Summer Smash is an exciting, fast-paced cricket competition designed to bring the community together for a fun and entertaining summer of cricket.
Played in a dynamic 100-ball format, Summer Smash delivers high-energy matches, shorter game times, and a great atmosphere for players, clubs, and spectators alike.
Competition Format
- Each team faces 100 balls per innings
- Structured into 20 sets of 5 balls
- Matches completed in approximately 2–2.5 hours
- Fast-paced gameplay with continuous action
When We Play
- Weeknights: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
- Additional Matches: Sundays (December & January)
- Start Time: Typically 5:45 PM

- 🎶 Music and entertainment encouraged during games
- 📺 Live scoring & streaming (FrogBox) for every match
- 💡 Matches played under lights for evening atmosphere
- 🏏 White Kookaburra balls used for all games
Team Structure
- Minimum 2 Under-23 players in every team
- Option to include 1 marquee player per match
- Teams can name an Impact Player (12th player)
- Can be used in one innings at a key moment
Game Rules Highlights
- Powerplay: First 20 balls (2 fielders outside circle)
- Power Surge: Optional 10-ball attacking phase
- Bowling Limit: Max 4 sets per bowler
- No consecutive sets for bowlers
- Free hit for every no-ball
Match Results
- Matches decided on total runs
- If tied:
- Most 6s wins
- Then most 4s
- If still tied → result shared
